A little mystery
Your finest attire and a favourite mask. Masks are encouraged, not a complicated equipment requirement. “Curiosity mandatory” is more or less the dress code for the brain.

On the last night of 2026, we trade the ordinary ballroom for something considerably more interesting: art, candlelight, masquerade masks, music and a room full of very curious people.

Hidden in the centre of Bergen is a venue where grand paintings, brick arches, antique furniture and a nightclub all somehow coexist. It is gloriously unreasonable. Exactly right for New Year's Eve.
Galleri Nygaten brings together a large private collection of figurative art, dramatic interiors and rooms made for gatherings. The gallery's historic surroundings include works associated with artists such as Odd Nerdrum, Kai Fjell, Kaare Espolin Johnson and Eser Afacan.
Expect a setting with far more character than white tablecloths in a conference hall. Several distinct rooms make it possible to dance, talk, explore and take a break without ever quite leaving the party.

This is the event description as currently published by Silvensa. Specific operational details may still be refined, so the official activity listing takes precedence.
Your finest attire and a favourite mask. Masks are encouraged, not a complicated equipment requirement. “Curiosity mandatory” is more or less the dress code for the brain.
Begin with a welcome glass of sparkling wine, included with your ticket. Norwegian prices need not be your first surprise of the evening.
Food is included in the ball ticket. This is a standing buffet, not an allocated-seat gala dinner. Ask the organisers about dietary requirements and final menu details.
A DJ keeps the dance floor going. Prefer discussions to dancing? Multiple bars and cosy spaces mean you do not have to choose between conversation and celebration.
Another glass of sparkling wine is included for the countdown to 2027. There are worse ways to turn the calendar page.
This venue is a gallery first. Take in the paintings, sculpture and theatrical rooms while enjoying the company. Please respect the artworks and venue rules.
Step inside Galleri Nygaten before New Year's Eve. This is the venue's own introduction film, played directly here on our site.
Even a masquerade ball benefits from knowing where the door is.
Galleri Nygaten is in central Bergen, within walking distance of shops, bars and the historic centre. From our base at Thon Hotel Orion, plan for a city-centre walk and allow extra time in winter.
Walking directions from Orion ↗Our programme currently lists NOK 1,750 for the ball. Check the official Silvensa Activity List for the current ticket price, booking conditions and remaining places.
Official activity booking ↗There is no minimum age for the Masquerade Ball, and families may bring their children. Please remember that this is an evening New Year’s celebration with alcohol service, music and a midnight countdown. Parents or guardians should decide whether the atmosphere is suitable for their children. Alternatively, families can spend the evening in the lounge at Thon Hotel Orion. The lounge is not an organised childcare service. Check the official listing for ticket arrangements.
Official activity details ↗Beautiful clothes inside. Waterproof outerwear and shoes with grip outside. December weather rarely checks your dress code before arriving.

*19:00–02:30 is the current programme-planner time and may change. The gallery's general public opening/service hours are not a promise of this event's final schedule.
Find your mask. Find your friends. The rest can wait until 2027.
