Everything we can confirm about attending Silvensa in Bergen, 28 December 2026 to 1 January 2027. Practical first, clever remarks where necessary.
Event registration, hotel accommodation and individual activities are not automatically the same booking.
The official event website handles registration and publishes the binding terms.
Official event site →Our base is Thon Hotel Orion, Bradbenken 3. Use the Silvensa-specific Thon Hotels booking page; availability and rates are set by the hotel.
Hotel booking →Our planner helps spot overlaps. Actual booking, eligibility and final timings belong to the official activity listing.
Programme planner →For questions that the guides cannot resolve, contact the organisers. Don't wait until you're standing outside in December rain.
Email organisers →The event dates, base hotel and absence of a minimum age for the NYE Ball are confirmed for this guide. Check-in procedure, badge collection, venue accessibility, children’s ticket rules and activity cancellation terms must be confirmed by the organisers or providers. We deliberately do not invent them.
All routes lead to Bergen. The trick is making the last part easy.
Flying into Bergen Airport (BGO)? Choose Bybanen light rail, Flybussen airport coach or a licensed taxi. Arriving by rail? You are already in the city centre.
Compare airport transfers →Destination: Bradbenken 3, Bergen. Save the address before you set off, especially if your roaming isn't cooperating.
Open hotel map ↗Hotel check-in and Silvensa event check-in are separate processes. Ask the organiser where event credentials or welcome materials are collected; that location is not yet confirmed here.
Orion hotel guide →Check the activity’s actual meeting point rather than assuming every event starts in the hotel. Give yourself buffer time in winter.
Open programme →Flight cancelled or arriving late? Contact your transport operator, the hotel for your room, and the event organisers for activities affected by your arrival.
Silvensa has an official programme and its own booking conditions. Our guides help you plan; the official site is the source of record.
Make sure you have completed event registration. Save your confirmation and any instructions the organisers send.
Register →Some activities can have separate reservations, prices, availability or limits. Check the official listing for each one.
Activities →Book your room separately. For groups wishing to stay close, ask Thon directly; nearby and connecting rooms cannot be guaranteed here.
Room options →Timings, meeting points and availability can change. Recheck the planner and official listing before travelling and on the day.
Latest updates →Silvensa registration uses three different “Bird” fees. The joke is optional. Understanding what you are paying for is not.
The standard registration fee for attending Silvensa. Every participant must pay Bird.
This is the actual participation fee.A completely voluntary way to contribute a little extra and help us make Silvensa even better.
No extra benefits — apart from making the organisers very happy.A voluntary contribution that grants you the prestigious and entirely unofficial right to complain about the event afterwards. 😄
It does not change your programme access or participation. There is no minimum age for the New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball, and children may attend with their families. Alcohol will be served, and parents or guardians must decide whether a New Year’s party suits their children. The lounge at Thon Hotel Orion is an alternative. Other Silvensa activities may have different age rules.
Build in indoor breaks. Bergen in December is beautiful, but rain, wind and shorter daylight hours are not particularly interested in your itinerary.
For a flexible afternoon, consider the city’s museums, a short waterfront walk or a warm café instead of planning every minute.
Free-time ideas →The hotel, gallery and off-site activities can have different arrangements. We will add verified step-free routes and facilities as they are confirmed.
For an accessible room, lift access or specific mobility requirements, confirm your exact needs with the hotel before booking.
Ask Thon →Ask the organisers about steps, lifts, toilets, seating and quieter areas at Galleri Nygaten; none should be assumed.
Ask organisers →Tell the organiser or venue about medically important dietary needs in advance, and confirm how cross-contact is handled.
Dietary question →Need a quieter break, seating or another accommodation? Ask in advance. We will publish confirmed arrangements here as soon as available.
Contact team →New Year’s Eve is at Galleri Nygaten, Nygaten 7. Children may attend with no minimum age, but the party includes alcohol service and a midnight celebration; parents should decide if it suits their family. The lounge at Thon Hotel Orion is another option. Check the official listing for ticket rules, timing and dress guidance.
It is a masquerade ball, so enjoy dressing up. Mask requirements, final dress code and facilities should be checked with the organisers.
Elegant clothes indoors; waterproof outerwear and grippy shoes outdoors. Bergen will not reschedule the rain for you.
Plan your return before midnight. Holiday transport may differ from normal service, so consult Skyss or pre-arrange a taxi if needed.
You do not need a pre-existing group, a perfect schedule or the ability to talk for six hours without stopping.
Try one activity or conversation at a time. If you are attending alone, pick a shared-interest event as an easy starting point. It is entirely acceptable to step out for a break.
People have different social batteries. Curiosity tends to work better than trying to impress anyone.
Leave gaps between activities, budget time for Bergen itself and check locations before saying yes to everything. Our planner can show overlaps; it cannot add extra hours to the day.
Programme and overlaps →Type a word such as “children”, “hotel”, “food” or “airport” to filter. Answers here are information, not replacements for booking terms.
Yes. Event registration and hotel accommodation are separate bookings. Check both confirmations and use the Silvensa Thon hotel booking page for your room.
Thon Hotel Orion, Bradbenken 3, Bergen. See the hotel guide for room choices and arrival options.
No. There is no minimum age to attend with family. Alcohol will be served during the New Year’s Eve celebration, so parents or guardians should decide whether it is suitable for their children. The lounge at Thon Hotel Orion offers an alternative. Check the official activity listing for children’s ticket rules.
Not necessarily. Confirm each activity’s age rules and any separate ticket requirements with the official activity listing.
The exact check-in and badge-collection procedure has not been published in this guide yet. Follow organiser instructions or ask the team before travelling.
Tell your transport provider, contact the hotel about late room arrival, and email the organisers if it affects booked activities. Check your own cancellation conditions.
Only the official activity system can confirm availability or changes. The planner is a convenience view, not a reservation confirmation.
Of course. Try a smaller activity as your starting point, leave breaks between events and approach conversation as an invitation, not a performance.
Wolt and foodora can show takeaway and grocery delivery options for Thon Hotel Orion, Bradbenken 3, subject to opening hours and availability. Ask reception where to meet the courier: delivery to the lobby may be possible, but delivery to your room is not guaranteed. See the Apple and Android download links.
Contact the organiser or service provider in advance. Never rely on a menu description alone for a serious allergy or cross-contact risk.
We have not yet verified the exact accessibility arrangements for the venue. Ask the organisers about entrance routes, stairs, lifts, accessible toilets and seating.
Cards are widely used in Norway, but check your bank and roaming arrangements before travelling. The Bergen Guide explains more.
Compare Bybanen, Flybussen and taxi. Save Bradbenken 3 before departure.
Reduced holiday hours are common. Do not assume any individual shop, restaurant or attraction will be open; recheck shortly before your visit. See holiday survival.
